This device is not compatible with smart things hub. It only works with EWeLink app.

Each device can control 1 door. Unfortunately I am not currently shipping to Canada.

How do I know the garage door is open or closed globally? Or how to control globally?

The device can be controlled from anywhere with internet. It does not currently report the status of the door.

Got the thing to pair with my iPhone setup but it shows up as "offline." Deleted and reinstalled it twice but still "offline." How do you get it online?

You may need to restart your phone by powering it off and back on. Do the same with the device. If it never showed online make sure you have entered the wifi network name and password exactly as it is case sensitive.

If the device has never paired successfully you may need to delete and pair again. The red led should be blinking when pairing and solid when paired. If you have continued problems visit the app wiki page at https://www.itead.cc/wiki/EWeLink_Introduction or submit feedback within the app for technical assistance.

After I installed the garage door opener & EWeLink app, when I press the button in the app to open or shut the garage door, it opens or shuts the door and stays On until I press it again, and then changes to Off. The instruction sheet that came with the device shows a picture of the pc board inside the device, with a button for "Inching & Manual" and a button for "Inching & Switch Mode Toggle Button". Would it be better to switch the mode to inching for a garage door opener so it automatically switches to Off after I press it? If so, how do I do this and does it entail opening the device box?

Yes you should press the button to toggle to inching mode.

Since I hadn't heard back, I figured out that it is not the syncing button you press to change to inching mode, but the other button inside the product, which is pretty much impossible to reach by poking around with a toothpick as it is not in line with the hole. I had to remove the screws, pull it apart despite it being heavily glued, and then the button was accessible to put it in inching mode. Unless I missed the easy way to do it...

Sorry you had so much trouble accessing the button. Our hope would be you could press the button from the hole on the top if the box.
