DIY Solar Charger/Batt Backup

Here I recycle some old parts and unused or broken electronics around the house to make something for an upcoming camping trip. I took 4 solar lights for the garden that were not working for one reason or another. I tested the panels and they all worked so I wired them in pairs. 2 solar cells in series and those 2 series in parallel. This gave me ~3vdc at 300mA. I paired this with a iphone 4 battery backup that has a 3.7vdc 1500mAH battery and a e cig 3.7vdc 1500 mAH battery in parallel. I still need to put a one way diode on here to keep the solar cells from draining the battery in the dark. Then I added a USB female plug as an output directly from the batteries. This should also have a one way diode to prevent reverse charging. After that a switch from the batteries to the 5v to 12v dc step up and a car accessory plug on the other end of the step up. That completes what I have done so far. I will try to upgrade this project in the future.

4 1.5vdc 150mA Solar cells
2 3.7vdc 3000mAH batteries
1 USB Female plug
1 Switch
